Philipp Keller sells SEO Kickstarter, a web app that provides startups, founders and solopreneurs with data on sites for backlinks and tracks submission progress for their new sites, and his founder-reported income from the business was $5K a month as of 2024-06 in a Starter Story founder interview dated 2024-06-21.
What it sells and how it charges
The official Backl.io site describes SEO Kickstarter as a web app showing which sites to submit to for DR lift. In the Version 2 listing checked on 2026-10-01, the app covers 60+ sites and includes DR and traffic data, guides and submission-progress tracking. It is aimed at startups, founders and solopreneurs that have launched a new site and need their first backlinks.
The same official listing, checked on 2026-10-01, lists Version 2 at USD $117, currently $87, as a one-time payment. It includes lifetime access for up to 5 domains. The site also reports “Sold to 1100+ startups”; that official-site figure was checked on 2026-10-01.
How it started
According to his official about page, checked on 2026-10-01, Keller’s first startup was a Swiss flat-share site. After months of development, he launched it but received no traffic. He then built a backlink outreach tool and launched it with 10 seats, all of which filled within 3 days, according to the same dated page.
The same account says Keller considered outreach too hard for beginners, so he reverse-engineered the backlinks of 200 successful startups and turned that research into SEO Kickstarter. The Starter Story founder interview dated 2024-06-21 says the Twitter-only launch sold 87 copies for $3,400 on day one, after he raised the price from $29 to $49. The interview also says he added an affiliate program with a 40% revenue share and that three skilled affiliate marketers were then making around half of sales.
The numbers
The headline income figure is $5K a month. Its basis is founder-reported: Keller stated it in a Starter Story founder interview dated 2024-06-21, and the figure is recorded as of 2024-06. It does not describe income after that date.
The one-person classification rests on Keller’s own statement in his official about page, checked on 2026-10-01: “Hi, my name is Philipp and I’m a solopreneur from Switzerland.” The official materials do not state the cost of starting the business.
What stands out
- Keller turned a stated beginner problem—backlink outreach was too hard—into a product built from startup backlink research, guides and submission tracking.
- The recorded sales channels extend beyond a single launch: Twitter, word of mouth, TikTok and affiliates.
- At the 2024-06-21 interview, the affiliate program was a major sales component: three marketers made around half of sales under a 40% revenue share.
- The official listing checked on 2026-10-01 uses a one-time payment, while the $5K a month figure is separate, founder-reported income as of 2024-06.
