Cozy: A private journal that stays yours: Local-first journal app at $329 in the last 30 days

Cozy sells a private, local-first journal app for Mac, Windows, iPhone and iPad to people who want entries kept on their own devices, and TrustMRR records $329 in the last 30 days as platform-verified revenue, synced 2026-09-30.

What it sells and how it charges

Cozy keeps journal entries on the owner’s device as plain files that can be opened with other software. Its official site says nothing is synced to a server or fed to AI.

The standard license is a one-time $49 purchase with no subscription. It covers every Mac, Windows PC, iPhone and iPad the customer owns. Cozy Forever is a one-off $89 purchase that includes every future version for life.

How it started

Alberto Gallego states that he has kept a journal since 2019. He built Cozy because he wanted a private place to write rather than another app quietly collecting what he put into it.

The business profile lists Cozy’s founded date as 2026-05-08. It is sold through Cantimplora Studio LLC, a Wyoming LLC. Gallego says that company name appears on the invoice, but there is only one person behind it.

The numbers

TrustMRR’s platform-verified record states: “$329 in the last 30 days; $1,446 in the last 12 months; $1,446 all time (verified via Polar, Stripe, synced 2026-09-30).” These figures are a dated snapshot rather than live revenue data.

The one-person classification comes from Cozy’s About page, where Gallego identifies himself and says, “I build Cozy on my own.”

What stands out

  • Both purchase options are one-off payments rather than subscriptions, although only Cozy Forever is explicitly described as including every future version.
  • The local-first product description is tied to a specific storage model: plain files on the customer’s own device, with no server sync or AI feed.
  • The public sources separate the legal seller from the person building the product: Cantimplora Studio LLC handles sales, while Gallego says he works on Cozy alone.
